Freemont OHIO

Saturday we went to Freemont to visit friends. They took us to a neat restaurant/bar along the river called The Tackle Box2. The walls were covered with neat things. Above, SM is next to a pirate wall hanging.
We ate some yummy walleye sandwiches and had a great visit!
See...Happy People!
Notice this sign...and behind the sign is the river. My concern was that if you did go through the wall your vehicle would fall into the river and that would be a big mess to fix. The wall had many of these signs to warn drivers about the wall. My guess is that one too many drunk patrons actually did damage this wall.Look at those cute kids. And they were very well behaved...which makes it that much easier to visit with their parents. Also notice the older brother...he really wanted to read his book but his baby sister was starting to fall asleep and so he was trying to prop her up and read...which was very difficult.
Here our friend is giving us some background information about Rutherford B. Hayes before we went on the tour of his house. Our friend is standing in front of the museum and library on the grounds of the Rutherford B. Hayes property.
Here's our group as we talk about whatever!
And here is the Rutherford B. Hayes home. They have had five generations in this home since President Hayes lived here. Also, the home wasn't always this large and grew larger later in his life and even after his wife died. It was a gorgeous home!

Rutherford and Lucy Hayes were both buried here on the grounds, along with their only daughter and her husband. The grounds were covered with lots of trees and even a flower garden. We didn't stay in the flower garden very long because a group of people arrived for a wedding in the flower garden.
Look at this cute couple...I love being able to visit new places with my wonderful hubby!

Fourth of July...errr, the 5th of July

Since the fourth of July was on a Sunday, we decided to celebrate on the fifth of July! We invited a couple families over to enjoy the "fourth of July" with us.
We had a BBQ with pork and chicken brats. I also made some potato salad and our friends brought some fruit salad, potato chips, a cake and some drinks.
And after a very yummy lunch, SM taught a couple games to our friends. We played Lord of the Fries and Incan Gold. And I didn't win! But we had fun and hopefully our friends did also.
And this isn't the best picture of our teenager friend, but it's always hard to get a picture of a reluctant teenager.

More Fabric!!!!

So, for those of you that know me, know that I have a thing for children's flannel. And since I found a sale at JoAnn's on the 4th of July weekend, I ended up using all of my July's allowance on these cool pieces of flannel.
Isn't that cute...sky blue and teddy bears?!!
Look at those two matching pieces! Lovely polka dots!
Look at these two potential blankets...one for a boy and one for a girl! That would be perfect for a set of twins that are one boy and one girl. But since I don't know of anyone that has that recipe in the oven guess I'll just enjoy the fabric!
