Mom's garden

After a long, cool Spring, Mom's garden is finally growing.  The cool weather plants have done very well.  The pea plants are taller than they ever have been.  I love working with my mom in her garden.

See, the pea plants are at least to my waist.  And so so so yummy!

And here are the lettuce plants, next to the peas.

And the rhubarb is really big and yummy!

Family Reunion

Last weekend we had our annual family reunion in Logan.  My husband was at a conference in Chicago.  SM's brother is in the above photo.  He had to have additional name tags to help other family members not get him confused with my husband.  It was sort of a joke and sort of not.  They do look alike and sound alike.

The bottom two name tags with pink writing says "But I am still wonderful! Just ask my mom...or my beautiful wife."  And it is true.  He is a great guy.

I took only a few photos this year.  I really should have been on the ball and taken more pictures but I did get a few nice ones.  I didn't get any pictures of my nieces and nephews...so sad.  Here's my MIL and SIL and BIL.  It looks like they might have taken a few photos since they both have cameras in their hands.

We had all sorts of games, adult games and kid games.  Here's my FIL playing some Frisbee golf.

We always have a family auction where we sell things we've made or newish items.  Here is a girls purse that has a baby inside.  When you turn it out, it becomes a bassenet with ruffles on the edge.  My SIL bought it for one of her daughters...it is so cute.

Wedding luncheon pictures

Lots of food!

More food and cupcakes!

My cute nieces and nephews

And more cute nephews and niece.

And more nieces and nephew...

...and nieces!

And we had some music...and love songs...

And a song that was not a love song!  (But check out those cute guys)!

Wedding luncheon preparations

The day before the wedding, my mother-in-law spent the day ironing chair covers to help out with the reception.  That afternoon she went to the other church to set up for the wedding luncheon.  That evening some of the girls joined her to get final preparations done for the luncheon.

We all had things to do...my favorite was decorating the cupcakes!

And here I am squirting ganosh on top of chocolate cupcakes!

We enjoyed our time working and TALKING!

We might have had the munchies....

Wedding

SM's youngest brother got married this last weekend.  There were a lot of people there to celebrate this happy occasion.

Here we are...a very cute couple!

This is photo of SM's sisters' family...cute!  SM's sister sewed her skirt and her two daughter's skirts.  What an awesome talent!

Here's SM's brother's family...before the crying and frowning started.  Can you tell that the wedding colors were "celery" green and pale yellow?

This photo shows my three nieces...SM's older sister's girls.  This sister also sewed her daughter's skirts.  Very cute!

And SM's oldest brother's boys!

And one of SM's oldest brother's daughters...her little sister is right behind her being held by mom.  Their dresses were exactly the same and so darling!

Here is SM and his siblings!  What a great bunch of people...and very handsome/beautiful!

Here's the happy couple getting ready to cut the wedding cake!

And we had to decorate the car!

And we filled the car with balloons that had rice inside of them...a nice surprise when they are popped!  We all had a great weekend and now everyone in the family is married.  No more weddings for a while.

Sun Dog

At the beginning of June, SM, myself and my in-laws were going to SM's brother's house for a movie night.  As we were in the car, traveling to his brother's house, I noticed a Sun Dog in the sky.  It was very large and colorful.  I commented and pointed to it and we all said something and then conversation moved on to other things.  I kept watching the sun dog and it just kept getting brighter and bigger.  Finally I realized that I had my camera in my purse and so I pulled it out and took a couple pictures of the sun dog.  Other people in the vehicles around us saw that I was taking pictures of something and looked around and also saw the sun dog.  It was cool and here are two photos of it that I took from the car.

Nephew's birthday

My nephew celebrated his third birthday last week.  (My brother and brother-in-law also celebrated their birthdays during that same week).  My sister-in-law made this awesome "watermelon" sherbet for his birthday "cake" and everyone had a wonderful time eating it up.

Here's the "cake" after he blew out the candles.  He was so excited that it was his birthday!  Look at that smile!

Here's my brother who also had a birthday last week.  He turned 30 years old!  Wow!  He's getting old...hee, hee!

And I had to get a picture of the "watermelon."  My sister-in-law said that she could have added chocolate chips to make it look more like watermelon but they would have been very cold and not really added to the sherbet.  It was very yummy and creative!

My nephew's baptism

My nephew got baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints last Saturday morning.

Here my nephew is with my husband's parents.  What a cute kid!

And here I am with my awesome eight year old nephew!

And here he is with his mom and dad.

We were able to attend his baptism and confirmation and then we went home, changed clothes, and went to a different church to have a luncheon.  I am amazed at how quickly kids grow up!  This nephew was a baby when I married into the family and now he is eight years old.  I am so proud that he chose to be baptized and that I was around to be part of it.
