Six months old and showing my chubbiness off

Six months old and so HAPPY!

This little boy has so much personality.  I loved putting him in a hat to add some charm to these photos.

Spending time with extended family

This summer we had a great time visiting with family and letting them play with baby L and get to know his little personality.

Some of baby L's cousins are...crazy cute!

And of course we had to spend some time with Grandma!

Have you ever heard the story of Rose Red and Snow White?  These two sisters remind me a little bit of that fairy tale.

Baby L has a photo shoot...sort of

I didn't take any of those popular newborn pictures of baby L when he was a newborn.  Part of the reason was that I just felt terrible...you know, hormones, lack of sleep, healing, anxiety, etc. AND my baby was super collicky and so I wasn't going to disturb him after he had fallen asleep.  So, L gets his pictures when he is older.  Here's when he was five months.  I took them in my in-laws backyard one evening.  I think they are super cute!

L likes to be outside on the grass.  He didn't mind laying in it at the time of the photos. Now that he is older, he just sits up in the grass.

I can't believe how fast this little boy is growing up.  He doesn't even look like this to me anymore.  I guess that means I'll have to pull out the camera and try to get some more cute photos of him.

Lehi Round-up 5 & 10 K

Last June I was able to run a 5K, SM ran the 10K and my Dad ran the 5K.  No, the baby did not run but he was there to cheer us into the finish line.  I struggled with a side ache for the whole run but I still did okay for just having had a baby five months earlier.

My mom was the babysitter while we ran and the baby loved being around so many people.

SM took first place for his age group.  Yippee for an awesome hubby!

SM took first for his age group, my dad took second for his age group and my cousin also took second for her age group.

And here I am with four of my girl cousins that also ran the race.  These four girls grew up next door to me so that even though I had three younger brothers, I had these girls next door to me and they were like my own sisters.

Family Photos by Chelsi

This summer while we were in St. George, SM's sister took our family pictures.  I posted this one because the baby was so fascinated with my hair during the photos and just wanted to play with it.  Look at his face in this photo!

My baby is eating food.

So, it's been a couple months since I've posted anything.  It's been a very busy summer.  I don't know if I can catch up on everything but I can show you all what we are currently doing in our home.  The baby is eating food, not just goat milk.  He has tried carrots, beans, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, brown rice cereal, millet cereal, bananas, avocados, peaches, applesauce and a few raw foods like cantaloupe, fresh peaches, and strawberries.

The baby is such a big boy!

Green beans are not his favorite but he will eat them.

Some fresh peaches in his mesh eating thingy!

Blueberry picking!

We were excited to go blueberry picking for the first time ever.  SM has a friend that owns a blueberry farm and this year the berries were slow to produce because of all the rain we've had.  And then when they did ripen, the rains caused a lot of the berries to split.  But that meant that we picked five quart bags of blueberries for free.  It was wonderful! (We laid all the berries out on towels to dry them off since we picked the berries in the rain and they needed to be dried off before we frozen them in bags).

These berries weren't small either...they were round as the end of my thumb.  So delicious.  After this picking we got five days of rain without a break and all the berries split and fell off of the bushes.  We were so lucky to get all these berries.
