Our House, Our Home

So, here's some photos of our new house.  The pictures aren't in the order that I'd like but since I'm terrible at moving them around, I think I'll just leave them and let you all look at our crazy photos of our awesome house!

Here's the guest room.  The blinds are closed and hide the trees in the back yard. The cubbies under the window are awesome!

Here's the front room and the front door.  We call it our library.  We have a piano that we got from someone at church.  Now it just needs to be tuned and I'll start practicing again...or at least that is the hope.

Back yard...ours to the fence! We have a small forest!

The blue room is our storage/craft/games room.  We will do a lot more to this room but meanwhile it is serving a great purpose. It is a place to put anything until I find it a proper place.

Here's the kitchen!  The fridge is a new purchase.  We decided to go with a  big fridge.  As you can see, SM had to take out the cabinets above the fridge so that it would fit.  We love it!  The counters are granite and so I have to be careful not to brake anything glass.  Only bad thing...no backsplash behind the sink.  I tend to get water on the floor.

And my favorite room...the family room!  At one time this was the garage but they made it into a big family room and built on another garage.

Those double doors behind the couch are storage space...and I use it as my food storage space.  I absolutely love it!

And here it the garage with plenty of space to walk between the cars!  Another love of this house!

Here's the shop that is built onto the garage.  SM is excited to have his own space and I'm excited to have a place to put tools.

Here's a photo of the baby's room.  I haven't ever decorated a house before so I've got a lot of learning to do.  But for now we have the essentials. And as I learn how to balance a baby and be the wife and cook and laundress, I'll be able to do more around the house.

Back in March, Macon celebrated it's Cherry Blossom Festival.  We all took a trip downtown to see what the festival was all about.  Well, the cherry blossoms hadn't bloomed yet but the pink port-a-potties were out!

I guess you could say that the pink cherry blossoms were found on the streets.  It was so cute!

We did see a lot of "fru-fru" all over Macon.

Have any of you read a children's book by Dr. Seuss called I Saw It All on Mulberry Street?  That  book is one of SM's favorite books.  Macon has a Mulberry Street!

Grandpa really enjoyed getting the baby to smile at him.

We loved playing games with SM's parents and my mother-in-law loved holding the baby!  What a great trip.. Thank you for coming to see us!

Trip to Savannah

I'm not exactly sure how to get all my photos in the right order...so they load up and I just deal with them.  While SM's parents were here in March we took a trip to visit Savannah.  We had never been there before so we did a little bit of searching on the internet and decided to take a bus tour of the historic district of the city.

The baby was eight weeks old for this trip!

Look at those huge trees and the Spanish moss.  Savannah was beautiful!  I imagine that in the summer it is even more beautiful when all the leaves are out and green.

We used the stroller as a bed for the baby and he took a few naps while we walked around.

SM and his dad are getting the stroller and baby into a very old cemetery.  The cement pathway in the cemetery was made with sea shells.  We enjoyed the ability to walk around and then hop onto the tour bus whenever we wanted to.

SM was our fearless leader who got us where we wanted to be.

For lunch we stopped at vegan restaurant, hoping that my Mother-in-law could eat something gluten  free.  Well, we didn't find anything for her to eat but she had brought some things to eat.  The rest of us ate a vegan lunch and then SM went across the street and bought himself a cupcake or two.  He enjoyed every bite.

The saying goes that if you touch the fish water spout during a rainstorm you'd have good luck.  It is not raining in this photo but I did want to touch the cool fish water gutter.

We had a wonderful trip to Savannah and will return again to learn more about this beautiful city.

Seven weeks to Eleven weeks old

Here's the sweetest little guy with his grandma.  He loved having Grandma and Grandpa here.  He really began smiling while they were here and they loved it. 

Seven weeks old

I put this photo on the blog so you can see his purplish little "V" on his forehead.  It reminds me of the old star trek show.  I remember from my childhood that on one of the plants a baby had a "V" on it's forehead.

8 weeks old

9 weeks old.  Look at that cute smile and baby is finally chunking out.  No more rib shots.  I love that cute little belly.

9 weeks old, baby awake and Daddy asleep.  The photo is a bit grainy because I took it in semi-darkness.  I love that baby and his Daddy! 

Check out that stylish little boy in his Levi's.  Eleven weeks old and smiling a whole lot!

Eleven weeks old and very happy!

Ten weeks and baby's newest trick is to suck in his bottom lip.  I was afraid he'd suck it off...he was sucking it for a long time that by the end of the day the bottom lip was very red.  But he only did it for a week or two and then moved onto something else.
