I am a creative person who has more projects than time to do them. I am married to a real gentleman. He always opens all doors for me and supports me in all I choose to do. I currently am not working though I've worked in the public schools as a speech therapist for five years. I love to read, paint, sew, cook and scrapbook. I'd like to learn how to digitally scrapbook but am not ambitious enough to figure it out on my own. I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and love to share my beliefs with anyone. Thanks for getting to know a little bit about ME!!
Today we went to the National Arboretum. At least, we got there on the second try. We took the wrong turn once, had to back track and try it again. But what a wonderful day! The weather was pleasant...not too hot and not too cold. Mom found some beautiful flowers...actually there were beautiful flowers in many places...with the potential of many flowers in the next week or two. This bonsai tree was the oldest that we could find...It's been around since the 1600's. It's amazing the detail that is given to this bonsai garden!! I loved this flowering bonsai tree. And what do you know, it matches my shirt.
Look below at one of the beautiful flowers that I found on a trial. These pillars once were on the Capital Building until 1958...and then they were sitting in storage somewhere until 1990 when someone had the idea of putting them in the National Arboretum. They are fun. Below is a picture of just one of the top pieces of a pillar. Wow, is all I can say!! And to end a beautiful day...here is a bouquet of beautiful tulips. Enjoy!!
So happy to find your blog (linked from the Kraus blog). I love your short hair - so cute! Thank you for posting all the DC pictures (even though I have not been so homesick since we moved here). I so miss the Cherry Blossom Festival and all of the beautiful flowers of spring.
oh, this looks gorgeous! I can't believe I've been here, what, 4 years, and still haven't made it to the Arboretum. Thanks for inspiring me to plan a trip!
