Wednesday March 14th, 2012 The National ZOO!

One of my favorite places to visit in the National Zoo!  I was so glad that we decided to go to the zoo and that the weather was awesome!

Look at that cute couple standing with some bamboo.  I hope we don't run into any panda bears.

We had to chase off a couple kids before the big kids could get their photo taken.

I loved this lemur...he has his own pretend buddy...or at least a stuffed animal friend.  He was very shy but oh so cute!

I also enjoy taking a nap in the sunshine...though I've never tried taking a nap in a tree.

This is one of my favorite photos of the two of us.

Eww!  A giant snake!  This photo makes me creeped out which is why I am sharing it with all of you.

The elephant house was closed for the year and so I had got my photo in front of these awesome elephants.

There were so many different animals and so many different photos I took.  It was hard to chose which picture to put on this blog.  But I love zebra's.  I love how the stripes go across the body.  I also like the patterns on giraffes and leopards.  What a great day to go to the zoo!

Tuesday March 13th, 2012

Tuesday morning we started our day waiting in line to get into the Holocaust Memorial Museum.

We did grab some lunch before spending hours in the museum.

Afterwards, with large smiles on our faces we went to the National Archives to see the Magna Carta, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights.

Here I am standing in front of the National Archives.

SM and I with the Capitol building in the background.

One of my sister-in-laws favorite Wii games in Just Dance.  Here we are playing Just Dance 3 in our very little living room.

March 12th 2012 - night time

Here's a photo of the Washington Memorial with all the flags around it at night.  You can also see the Capitol Building lit up in the background.

Lincoln Memorial at night.

The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial has a lot of water features...so it's nice to put beautiful people in front of the water.

FDR Memorial

We are very hungry...so we got in line.  Well maybe not.  We did get in line though.

See, I told you that Flat Stanley was jumping in a lot of our photos.

The Jefferson Memorial at night.

My sister-in-law and I sitting with George Mason.

March 12th 2012 - daytime

SM's brother and wife came to visit.  We had so much fun going into DC and taking photos of all those Memorials and Museums.  Enjoy the photos!
Iwo Jima Marines Memorial

SM's brother and wife at the memorial

Reading the different plaques at the Iwo Jima Memorial were very informative.

Arlington Cemetery

I got a photo in front of a tulip tree at Arlington Cemetery.

The Robert E. Lee mansion

The Korean Memorial

The Lincoln Memorial

I got a picture of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is under construction and won't be completed for another year.  I'm sad that I won't be here when it is completed.  I imagine it will be beautiful when completed...not with green algae growing in the water.

The Vietnam Memorial

The Signers of the Declaration of Independence Memorial/Island.  I like the shirt SM is wearing, it says "I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you."

I wonderful view of the Washington Memorial.

The World War II Memorial

WWII Memorial

Flat Stanley joined us on our trip and got his photo taken often.

And a photo of the White House!  After this photo we headed home for some dinner but returned a couple hours later for some new photos.

Two very handsome guys...who are mostly smiling after a day of walking around and putting up with their wives and all the picture taking we were doing.
